Horology is one of my personal hobbies and it does cost quite a lot of money. I have acquired the Tudor Black Bay 58 late Dec 2019 and have been very pleased with this tool watch. I got this BB58 with the steel bracelet and I had been on the AD waitlist for about 6months before I got the magic call.
The BB58 wears very well and the best thing about it was that is is just 39millimeters in diameter and running on a brand new in house caliber. Comparing to the Black Bay brother, it wears so much better on a person with a small wrist and it does not feel chunky.
Now let's get on to why I acquired this watch.
Basically, I would think that it is important for the person to like the watch visually first then the functionality. SO I personally Love a Diver watch with a vintage vibe :)
For the functionality of this watch, it comes with an MT5402 which is a COSC-certified chronometer. The power reserve stands at 70hours, new silicone hairspring, and runs at a frequency of 28,800 bhp.
It is very accurate running on this built and I like that it drops the ETA and made an in house movement which is a big change.
As for the price, this watch is in high demand and long waitlist so I brought it at RSP at just below 5k. Well, but that's okay since Rolex group had increased their prices so the BB58 is now RSP at over 5k.
